# recordings

> Reference for the recordings tool of Facecast: kept recordings, chapters and usage, with every action.

Source: https://facecast.geenius.io/docs/reference/recordings/

The recordings a person has kept. Recording itself happens in the person's browser, so an agent can read recordings but never make one.

Call it as `geenius_facecast(tool: "recordings", action: "<action>", args: {...})` through Geenius OS.

## Actions

| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| `chapters` | A recording's chapters [{atMs, title}] from the layout and source switches, and the same as text for a video description ("00:00 Intro" lines). |
| `list` | Kept recordings, newest first, with each file's URL, length, starting layout, every layout used, framing and the script read. |
| `read` | One recording, also its marks (layout and source switches, screenshots, with their time atMs) and its screenshots. |
| `usage` | How many recordings are kept against the plan. |

> [!TIP]
> Ask for the exact arguments of any action with `action: "help", of: "chapters"`. The server answers from its own definitions, so that answer is always current.
