Rehearse and pace

How to rehearse a Facecast script full-screen, choose a pace, and use the teleprompter over the video, beside it or in the pop-out.

Rehearse before you record. It costs a minute and saves the take.

Rehearse full-screen#

Open a script and choose the full-screen prompt (press F). Read it out loud. The controls fade while you read. Change the pace until the words feel like yours: 140 words per minute is a calm start, and 60 to 260 are allowed.

Choose where the text sits#

In the studio the teleprompter can sit over the video at the top or bottom, beside the video, or in the pop-out control bar. Put it as close to the lens as the layout allows, so your eyes stay near it. It is never recorded, whichever you choose.

A rhythm that works#

  1. Read it in full once to find the clumsy sentences.
  2. Switch to bullets and say it in your own words.
  3. Record in the mode that sounded best.

Time#

Words divided by pace is minutes. If a full text has 700 words and the pace is 140, the take runs about five minutes.
